There is less than a month to go to November 25th.

This is the Peak Filing period for the CRO, where over fifty thousand Annual Returns are typically submitted through CORE during the month of November.

As Annual Return submission levels will rise the closer we get to the 25th of November, the number of users accessing and using CORE will also increase, which can result in:

• A slower system during periods of high use.
• Long waiting room/waiting times to access CORE.
• A higher likelihood of technical issues occurring.
• A higher likelihood of a late return occurring.

 
The CRO’s ICT Support Services will be available to assist you during this period, but we will be experiencing an increased level of demand for assistance, which may impact on our response times.

We would strongly encourage you to file now, if you can, do not leave it until the last minute.

Please note that forms QP1 (Annual Return), QP73 (Nomination of a New Annual Return Date) and QP83 (Alteration of Financial Year End Date by a Qualifying Partnership) are now available on our website.

If you are a Qualifying Partnership, please complete and return any outstanding submissions as soon as possible to avoid incurring late fees.

With effect from Wednesday 30th of July 2025 where a submission to the CRO has been presented by a presenter rather than the company itself, an email confirmation of receipt of the submission will be sent to the relevant company, for information, as well as to the presenter.

The commencement of Section 22 of the Companies (Corporate Governance, Enforcement and Regulatory Provisions) Act 2024 on 16 July 2025 provides for a change to the current audit exemption regime.

Late annual returns filed up to midnight on 15 July 2025 will require an audit for the following two annual returns.

Section 363(2)(b) confirms that if a company files late after the commencement date, any late filing before the commencement date will be disregarded when deciding if audited financial statements are required.
