The CRO Support Services (CSS) Operations Centre is a dedicated facility located at the Companies Registration Office in Dublin.

It is responsible for ensuring the continuous and secure operation of the CRO’s digital systems and services.

The CSS provides technical support, systems monitoring, and incident management to keep the CRO platforms running smoothly for businesses, professional users, and public sector bodies.

To deliver these services effectively, the CSS is staffed by experienced technical specialists with expertise in ICT systems, digital service delivery, and data exchange.

The team ensures that the CRO’s systems meet the highest standards for availability, performance, and compliance, both nationally and in line with EU requirements.

The CRO Support Services are responsible for the technical operation of CORE, the CRO’s primary online platform for company submissions, record searches, and document purchases.

The team monitors CORE performance and availability on a continuous basis, oversees regular system updates, and provides support to users across a wide range of business and professional roles.

Support activities include issue resolution, service alerts, user access support, and coordination with service providers to maintain reliable and secure access to CRO services.

The CSS ensures that the CRO is fully aligned with EU systems for company and insolvency data sharing.

Key areas of support include:

  • Business Registers Interconnection System (BRIS): The CSS manages Ireland’s participation in the BRIS network, allowing secure exchange of company and branch information between Member State registers. The team handles all technical aspects of this connection, including data formatting, schema updates, and performance monitoring.
  • Insolvency Register: The CRO contributes data to the EU-wide Insolvency Register (via the EU e-Justice Portal), ensuring transparency and accessibility across Europe. The CSS ensures that data is updated, secure, and compliant with EU standards.

These services are essential to fulfilling Ireland’s obligations under EU company law and ensuring consistent, cross-border access to company information.

The CRO’s Open Services API provides automated access to company and submission data. This is widely used by software developers, regulatory bodies, and financial service providers who integrate CRO data into their systems and workflows.

The CSS oversees the daily operation of the API, including:

  • Service uptime and performance
  • API key management and user onboarding
  • Security and authentication
  • Technical support and developer guidance

The API supports a wide range of use cases, from automated company lookups to compliance checks and digital service delivery.

The CRO offers Bulk Data files to approved users, typically for research, analytics, and regulatory functions.

The CSS manages the preparation, release, and secure delivery of these files, ensuring they are accurate, current, and made available in formats suitable for large-scale use.

The bulk service supports data-driven projects across academia, financial services, public policy, and business intelligence.

The CRO Open Data Portal provides free public access to selected company datasets, supporting transparency and reuse of official data. Datasets are published under the national open data licence, allowing them to be used for analysis, innovation, and digital services.

The CSS is responsible for maintaining the portal, updating datasets, and ensuring that the data meets national open data standards for quality, accessibility, and consistency.
